At Grasslands Dental Care, we do everything we can to help you feel relaxed and comfortable during your dental appointment. In addition to offering sedation options, we will work at your pace, take breaks when you request them and provide calm reassurance as needed.
Nitrous oxide is inhaled through the nose. The medication is calming but you will remain awake and able to communicate. It also tends to lessen anxiety, increase the pain threshold, reduce the gag reflex and make time seem to pass more quickly.
Oral sedatives are pills or liquids prescribed by your dentist. The medication is taken orally before a dental appointment. It leaves you awake for the procedure but produces a calming effect to significantly relax you.
